No ginger powder is used in my tea paste, only fresh authentic Bentong ginger is used in making my products. I will travel to Bentong regularly to buy the ginger from trusted local farmer as I want to make sure all the ingredients I use is authentic and high quality. Only high quality fresh authentic Bentong gingers are used in my tea paste. Beside, all dried ingredients like jujube (red dates) & goji berries are sulphur free. I want to ensure my customers to consume my products with peace of mind.
I use a traditional purple clay pot to brew the ingredients until all the nutrients are brought out. I believe in using wisdom of tradition with modern home kitchen to enable me to pay detailed attention to every aspect of the operations, from preparing & making to bottling.
My ginger tea paste is not as ‘shiny’ or ‘sticky’ like store bought as I do not add brown sugar into it. Some may ask why don’t I make it into cubes or powder to make it easier for travelling. The fact is, a large amount of brown sugar is needed to make the tea paste into the ‘dry’ condition. My initial purpose of making the tea is to improve health so adding sugar is not what I wanted, the very light sweetness in my tea comes from the dry longan, red dates and jaggery. Jaggery itself has a lot of health benefits to our body. And many also ask if I can make my products without adding jaggery? My answer is no. Jaggery added in my products is not for sweetness. Traditionally, jaggery or molasses or sugar are added in cooking as preservative when there were no refrigerator. Hence, jaggery can act as a preservative in my homemade products. Moreover, jaggery can provide a lot of health benefits that we were not told before (refer to picture for Health Benefits of Jaggery). This tea might be too spicy for some people as it contains more ginger than the standard one, you may try that first before purchasing this premium one.
