I’m Parmeet, and I’m managing this online store on behalf of my 74-year-old mum! (everyone calls her Aunty Kels).
My mum started cooking at the age of 12, and has always made amazing food for her friends and family. It’s something both therapeutic and joyful for her, so starting this business was an easy decision for her to pursue her passion and share with a broader group of people who appreciate authentic, clean and quality homemade cooking.
My mum knew with her heart that these products could only remain their quality by being homemade. Until today, she is still sourcing the fresh ingredients from local suppliers she trusts. Especially the staple ingredients like chillies, onions, anchovies, and garlic.
Many said it would be much easier to get ready-made chilli powders and garlic powders, but she insists to make everything from scratch from picking, washing, cutting, dehydrating and blending the ingredients on her own.
Although that means she wouldn’t be able to make a fortune out of this business by producing in bulk in a factory, she’s content with the idea of being able to share quality food made fresh from her little home kitchen.
In our family, she never let us buy curry powder or any spice powders anywhere else because “no one washes the ingredients”. The washing and cleaning process incurs a lot of cost, but she still does it to serve the customers who have tried our products and truly value the quality and cleanliness.
Our bestseller, the Spicy Anchovy Relish, can be enjoyed as a delicious condiment on its own. It can also serve as a zesty flavouring with rice, salad, pizza, pasta and wraps. Her homemade Garam Masala, an aromatic blend of ground spices, can be used as an all-purpose seasoning in curries, meat and vegetable dishes.
Our spice powder series are all made out of clean fresh ingredients, dehydrated and blended into a powder form, and it makes a huge difference in the dishes you cook it with.
I think serving good food is fundamental for us. Because we are very blessed that my mum always make amazing food, so we all actually don’t enjoy outside food so much
And because we get such good food at home, whether is any cuisine, Chinese, indian, or malay, mum makes it at home.
Given that we are so blessed with that, we know how much effort goes into producing good food, so we wanted to share it with others. That is why every product we produce, we are commited to ensuring that there are no preservatives, no sugar, and nothing that will harm your health.
What we believe is, don’t serve what you wouldn’t eat yourself.
